Visual Guide: Assembling your ERKA VARIO Blood pressure monitor with mobile stand

ERKA VARIO Blood Pressure Monitor

The Erka Vario comes standard with an ERKA superb green dual tube cuff, spiral tubing, pump ball and large cuff basket to hold the essentials. The face of the sphygmomanometer uses anti-reflective glass to improve readability. The face housing uses an impact-resistant and easy to clean ABS. If the device is registered on the ERKA website, you will receive a 5-year warranty backed by the manufacturer.

As per its name, the VARIO allows for a variety of installation forms such as wall mounting, a mobile stand and rail mounting.

This article will guide you on how to install the mobile stand variant of the ERKA VARIO.

ERKA VARIO Components

Let's run through the components of the VARIO before we begin. In your box you should have:

x 1 ERKA VARIO Blood Pressure Monitor Face

x 1 ERKA VARIO Blood Pressure Cuff Dock

x 1 ERKA VARIO Stand Pole

x 3 VARIO Stand Legs
x 2 VARIO Stand Legs with braking mechanism

x 1 Spring
x 2 Washers
x 1 Hex Nut

x 1 VARIO Stand 5-sided Clamp Disk with grooves
x 1 VARIO Stand Footed Mid-section
x 1 Long bolt
x 1 Allen Key
x 1 Serrated Washer

x 1 ERKA Superb Green Dual Tube Cuff with Inflation Bulb

x 1 ERKA Spiral Tubing

Mobile Stand assembly

Step 1: Take legs and insert into footed mid-section ensuring you push the leg to the very back of the centre column.

Repeat this process for all legs and place clamp disk over the legs ensuring the grooves sit within the circular cut-out in the legs.

Step 2: Keep pressure on the clamp disk to prevent legs from moving out of position.

Position the serrated washer at the centre of the clamp disk and insert long-bolt into the centre column.

Step 3: Twist into place and use the Allen Key to twist right to tighten the bolt.

Blood Pressure Unit Assembly

The VARIO unit itself has few parts that are required for assembly. A large portion of the device is accounted for by the measuring face of the VARIO. If you intend to use it as a mobile unit, then the parts of the device that require assembly are the measuring accessories such as cuffs, tubing, inflation tube and the cuff dock.

The connecting components (Spring, Hex Nut & Washers) are not required unless the device is to be used as a wall-mounted unit.

Step 1: Ensure the mobile stand is assembled correctly.

Step 2: Align the Cuff Dock with the insertion point on the top portion of the mobile unit (with the height adjuster).

Step 3: Take the measuring face of the VARIO - align and rotate the screw into the mobile stand with cuff dock resting in-between the two components.

Step 4: Rotate the VARIO face until tight.

Step 5: Find the two connections on the back side of the VARIO.

Connect the ERKA Superb Dual Tube cuff and the bulb inflator to one-another and also the device.

Step 6: Ensure the connections have no air leaks and test that the VARIO is receiving input when inflating and deflating the cuff.

Your ERKA VARIO is now assembled!
