The MiniSpir Plus ESI is a spirometer intended to test lung function and perform spirometry testing in patients older than three years, under the supervision of a qualified healthcare professional.
The device connects to a PC via USB and transfers measured data to the PC in real time for use with MIR Spiro software. It can perform FVC, VC & IVC, MVV and breathing profile tests and calculates an index of test acceptability and reproducibility.
The MiniSpir Plus ESI also provides computation of the Emphysema Severity Index (ESI) when connected with MIR Spiro Platinum Edition. It provides a 0–10 emphysema severity score, classifying patients according to the presence and severity of emphysema.
